Then after that we headed down to KTV! all 12 of us squeezed into 1 small room cause it's the only room left. But well, it was worth it cause flat rate of $100 for 4 hours (and beyond) and we had so many people.

Went to Ikea with twin earrrllly in the morning. okey la. not too earrrrllly, we woke up late. ahah! but Ikea wasn't too crowded. I prefer hot dog in Sg. But it's still $1 here.
Then went back to send Jen to airport, hanged out abit at dome drinking gold rush, ginger beer, some coffee, then said "goodbyes" "see ya" and then we were again off to Harbourtown! (oh, btw, the free parking is no longer free.) they found out and erected the paying thingy there. so well. have to look for another free spot to park next time!

Just finished doing my genotyping and was analysing my results. My colleague talks to me from a few steps away.
Colleague: "Hey sarah, could you please fill up the tip boxes and the empties once u are free? cause I REALLY *emphasized* need to autoclave them already, as we are running out." -- she's been bugging me on this since tues. but i happen to be not free.
Me: "yarps! okey, I'll do it once I finish this." -- thinking it's super urgent and since I used quite abit of the tips this week, I should do it.
She packs up a little and goes out of the lab. I turned around to the table and saw this:
THIS MOUNTAIN of pipette tip boxes were ALL FILLED up, READY to be autoclaved. And I believe I made most of these up too. like cause I see how the tape was taped on the boxes. I tend to be generous with it. And she said "really need to fill the boxes up cause she needs to autoclave them" erm....and these boxes are.....not available for autoclaving? for emergency use? - doesn't make sense cause even if we do run out of tips, u still need to autoclave them first before using so either way, u HAVE to autoclave these instead of leaving them there and don't bring them to autoclave and ask me to fill the little tip boxes u have left there just to make me do it? 8 empty boxes I was filling:
I wasn't angry or anything like that because she made me do it. but I just felt it was funny and absurd to say that "really need to fill them up cause I need to autoclave them" - in an URGENT voice, when we have a mountain of boxes ready to autoclave? I was more than willing to fill the boxes up. it's not a difficult job, it's just slightly tedious. But if I had nothing to do, I would do it la - like I can't stand having nothing to do anyway...I pack the supermarket aisle as I shop la! I know, my cousin would say "eh, you work here ar?"
But I was so amused by it (like u know at the point the feeling of -_-") then I faster faster whipped out my phone and snapped the pictures of the boxes. but no, I was not unwilling to do it. filling tip boxes is a requirement of working in the lab. that makes sense. not the "u really need to fill these up cause I need to autoclave them" when we have a mountain of ready boxes.
then the thingy about work unto God and not unto men came to my mind. was that a verse? I bet there was. which I truely believe. like that's why u can enjoy work without enjoying ur boss. but of course, enjoy both is better la. =)

Joel's farewell dinner & birthday celeb
The surprise flopped cause he saw Jude and Jude saw him. they stunned at each other for a moment then Joel was like asking why was he there and then he saw me. (I was trying to duck.) But then before that Joel also saw andrew, joshua and guys walking around the area.
But we had another surprise! we were going to celebrate his birthday too. he thought was just dinner thingy. So then when the lights dimmed (I'm serious. the restuarant lights dimmed), and the music played (i'm serious. the super old time favourite version of Happy Birthday was played in the restuarant) and some random GUY waiter came out with the cake for him. we were stunned. I didn't even know the restuarant was doing it. only twin knew, cause she passed the cake to them and said yes to all these plans that the restaurant had. (afterwhich, I said hah? how come u agreed? and she said, wouldn't you? and I said, oh yea.)
He was surprised at the lights dimming and song playing and birthday cake too I think. Oh and before that I tricked him to go toilet and look for andrew to look for a surprise and he believed me. hehehe. he went to the toilet and then he came back and looked at me with the -_- face and said, "andrew's NOT even in the toilet la!" -- (cause he kept asking me really anot really anot...) That was all fun and good dinner. But we were kinda rushed into ordering and making sure we don't sit around for too long cause the restaurant needed the space apparently.
Then we went over to Jude's place for games. Wii, mahjong, movies. And andrew came up with this as a set as he said "eh, chi!"
He "chi" the bai ban. we were laughing SUPER HARD la! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Bai ban is called "window-of-opportunities" - by pet. funny too. HAHAHA
