Perth/Murdoch

Heya all! Reporting from Perth...

Been here since friday 10th Feb. Touchdown at around 2.55pm but cause my housemate's (who was supposed to come fetch me) car broke down, he had to go looking for another car to fetch me. Therefore, I was stranded at the airport for quite some time, about like 3 hours? Thus, I read all the letters, cards, posters, whatever during that time. So peng, yes, I read yours before 1 week. Too bad. Anyway, ya I was like a silly fool smiling and laughing at what all of you wrote on your cards. But I enjoyed every single moment of that. Thanks peeps. =)

Went home, unpacked my stuff and packed stuff around my room. Pretty Fast and I got it up and running.

Then went with my housemate - shall now provide his name, Adrain. Adrain brought me for dinner at this place called "Satay Fiesta". It's manned by a chinese singaporean quite elderly couple..they've been there like 7 plus years already? And Uncle teddy(yes, that's his name) was really nice...coming over to talk to us, gave us free drinks and such. I heard many singaporeans like to go there to chill, to eat and such. But food was nice - satay taste like satay, peanut sauce taste like peanut sauce..not like some fake singaporean food that some people sell here. HAHA but it's slightly out of the way for people like me who don't have a car. YET.
Afterwhich, we proceeded to the workshop to check out his car. It's like in bad shape with all the technical stuff la. Anyway, it's something to do with timing belt, engine and pistons. aha. and stay there till 11 plus, reached home around 12mn. Then off to bed.

Saturday 11th Feb: Aunty Catherine (a family fren) came over my house to take a look and to talk to me for a while in the morning. After which, Adrain and I went to do some window shopping. Brought me to Garden City and Carousel to window shop - literally window shop - didn't go into most shops. Bought a few household stuff then went to airport to pick up my other housemate, Jasmine (who's going to take a similar course as me). Then after which, we went home did nothing really much and end of day.

Sunday 12th Feb: Orientation starts. Yes, I know it's sunday. But well, they made us go and do banking and Student ID today. Just these 2 stuff took us a few hours loh. And my Student ID photo is horrible. Lighting is horrible, angle is horrible. They should get more professional people to take photos. And i'm not going to show it here. Never.
Murdoch University!

After which, we went to Frementle with the school. Spent about 3 hours there..bought my favourite Chocolate Honeycombs! mmmmmmmmmm...yumyum. And some groceries like mostly veg and fruits. And 1 pack of hangers for $2. Then went home with Josh and cooked dinner.

The first 3 days were like boring.

But, Since monday....I've been having quite a lot of fun!

Monday, 13th Feb: it's like official launch of Orientation! There were booths around Bush court which is like a central location in school (ya know like the central atrium in TP) set up - something like CCA day in poly and stuff. Then we had talks and stuff - the talks were boring.*yawns* Same as Sg. But quite fun looking around la. Too bad I didn't bring my camera that day. There was a gay and lesbian rights club set up right outside the library. Then followed the school again to Garden City. This time, I bought 1 jacket for $5 and 1 top for $15 and 1 sunglasses - It's sorching hot and really glaring. Sunglasses Needed.

Tuesday, 14th Feb: There's like health cover talks in the morning *yawns* and stuff and a International Students Welcome Dinner at night. During the afternoon, Jasmine and I went to Kardinya park which was about 3 busstops away from school to get some groceries like meat, juices and stuff. It was terrible temperature that day - 37 degrees. When we went back, we dropped off at 1 stop earlier than we should have and we had to endure the temperature and weight all the way back home. It was Freakin Hot and freakin Heavy all the way back. We took about 30 mins (and it was about the distance from school to home) and we were sunburnt. GREAT. All red and black. After which we rested for a while then went for dinner at the Student Food Hall loh. And since today was tuesday...guess what? We have Gelare here too! We went for Gelare following Josh. Met up with a few of his (Adrain's too) cellgroup/churchmates. Really sweet people all. Would be going for their bbq next week. Happy Valentine's Day!

Wednesday, 15th Feb: Woke up late so can't go for the computer usage tour - would have to go the next day then. Bought pancakes in school to eat instead and it's quite not up to standard kind. They are thin and not at all fluffy - like what pancakes are supposed to be. I can make better pancakes - with the help of the prepacked mixtures. hehe. Then followed the international student organisation to Perth City. Took back all the sights and memories when I was here in 2004. Hope I can go eat TAKA and go harbourtown sometime soon. Met Angelin and her 3 frens - Emil and Clifford and Kah hon during the tour and we stuck around and tour perth city together.

One of the CAT buses in the City. They are free to ride. Tell you, Perth or Australia's in that sense, welfare is good.

Found bubble tea and bought it. Not as sweet as singapore but good la..sg's too sweet. Found the keropok I was looking for. But forgot to buy before I left the place. Shucks. Came back and we went to their Student Village Flats to look around and it was pretty nice. The single room was bigger than mine and quite cosy la. Then followed Emil and Clifford to see bicycles and found these 2 lovely cute dogs! 1 of them called muffin and the other....I forgot. HAHA.
Muffin and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

But anyway, they were really cute and nice to pat and all...And then we were back home. Emil and Clifford surveyed our house and has all the nice praises for it EXCEPT it was far. AHAH...when they heard we walked home everytime...they almost popped their eyes out and faint. AHAHA. Alright...actually okie la..take it as a morning and evening stroll loh..I won't want to be caught in the midday out there in summer. That's all for now..Will try to update daily and more pictures.
