Bad day

Lord, I thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me everyday. Even on a bad day. I know Your goodness and I know something good is going to come out of this. You'll turn everything into blessings for those who love you and definitely for those whom you love. I will sing to you praises even now. And You'll open up Your storehouse and rain blessings down to me.

Now I have no excuse not to stay home and study. Maybe that's how He's going to help me get my honours.

Copied this from someone's blog...hope he doesn't mind - well, christ is preached..

Jacob had two wives: Leah (the one he kena tricked into marrying) + Rachel (The one where he waited 14 years)

Rachel he loved very much
Leah he... dont really love. sigh.

Leah was Sad. God saw and it filled His Heart with compassion... so He gave her sons, while Rachel remained barren.

Leah's firstborn she called Reuben, which means "Behold your son"

her second born she named Simeon, which means "to hear"

and the third child was called Levi. who would be the father of God's Priest-Tribe. He typifies the Beginning of the priesthood. the High Priest

And Leah's sons were a comfort to her, and Leah found Favor with Jacob.

Reuben + Simeon + Levi = Behold the Son and Hear the High Priest.

We have the Son of God our Saviour, our Great High Priest in the order of Melchizedek
Behold Him, See His beauty, See His Love for you on the Cross. and Hear His words.

Purposely made the picture smaller so that those who cannot take it dun have to watch it so BIG.

Quite a week. Didn't update cause I didn't have all the photos yet.

Here's what i did for the week.

Cooked Mee soto. Pictures self-explainatory.

It's not bad la. HAHA

Friday went for a BBQ organised by Faith Community Church (this local church in Perth) - introduced by my housemates. At bibra lake. Nice place and BBQ was short and simple. But pictures not with me yet..tomorrow tomorrow.

Sat went for dimsum ($11/head all u can eat) in the morning with my housemates and some frens then the girls all went to carousel for shopping then after that evening went to Cottesloe, supposedly going to Blue duck Cafe to eat NICE cake while enjoying the sunset. Who knows...it's fully reserved, and we were rejected. So just took some pictures and went city to eat chinese food - Peking duck somemore!!...wah! super high output today. But scenery at Cottesloe Beach is nice.

That's about it for the week. Oh. And I bought a nike jacket at Harbourtown (the outlet stores place) for $50. And the best thing? The next day they had a happy hour session and storewide 30% off. #)&%^($#*&@^%.

Monday 20th Feb

Had my first lecture at 1030 today. Pretty light stuff today, easy to digest for all lectures. BUT...this is only the beginning. haHA.
VERY hot today. 36 degrees. man. Drinking grass jelly now.

Bought most of the needed to buy stuff at the bookshop already. and the cost to print notes which were only 2 topics was already A$5.80. Freak. I'm getting either a printer or borrow my fren's printer and get ink. Any sponsors again? Got small usable printer to send me?

And then after lunch...we went to buy groceries again. But this time cause it's nearing closing time, the stall owners were like shouting bargains like that..."$1 $1!! 3 for $5...$2 for the whole packet!" haha...so we got quite a few good bargains. After which we went home and some watched dvd...some sat around and chat..some played game.

Later after dinner at home, we went off for bubble tea in the city! This time it's much nicer than the bubble tea we had a few days before..this one was much more like the singapore kind. Even got the taiwan variety programs showing there. Open till late kind..All asians there. Nice. *photo uploading - tml k?*

Friday 17th Febuary

Heh..didn't go to school today at all cause no events that's essential for us. Slept till 12 noon then lazily got out of bed. But I was awaken a few times in the early morning because of the freezing cold. I had to wake up to wear socks..(Thanks Melis for the socks!!...It really came in handy!) And wrap the comforter around me like a cocoon. Didn't dare to move an inch in bed too cause only this side is warmed up..if I flip over...it's cold again!!...argh. ahaha...that's why waited until the place was warmer THEN I finally got out of bed.

Socks that saved me from freezing today

After which we went grocery shopping with my housemates Christie and Jasmine and Christie's 2 frens. Went to this Oriental Supermarket called Yee Sing Oriental Supermarket along Leach Highway. That's what they call the more chinese kind of supermarket where u can find chinese/malay/indian spices...chinese kind of food..like more singapore friendly kind of food la..like got yeo's, super, pau, chu qian yi ding instant noodles, jasmine rice, keropok, love letters and bak kwa even. They even have some hongkong videos for rent. (and it's quite updated shows!)

Yee Sing Oriental Supermarket

After which we went over to Kardinya Park again to get some other groceries. I bought a BIG pack of potato chips (which has 15 small packs inside) for only $3.99. Good eh?! haha...But i will keep and keep and ration one. HAHA.
And my other housemate, Clarence arrived today. He was packing his room and was like taking out speakers and such. I was like "wahlao...like club like that loh" cause the bass is very loud and heavy...so got the domch domch domch effect. HAHA..and he's real scared of heat. He has 2 fans running and today's kinda cold..and he still wants aircon. RIGHT.

Later going for supper. See ya!

Thursday 16th Feb

Today was Course Advise Session and Enrolment frenzy day. Tomorrow is going to be the last day of enrolment thus I went all busy trying to confirm units, forgot to bring password and credit/exemptions forms and such. Had to go home 1 more time to get all those stuff cause the administrative staff wouldn't help us do it (which prob would not need my password) although we already know there's a problem with 2 of the units in the system (cause my fren did it already). Somemore said, "you must be more independent." - I was like....WT@#$&*^#(*&%^.....never mind.

And so I rushed home and did it online then went back again to the same office to tell them the same problem that I knew would come up. Then finally they are willing to do it for u. waste my time. &$*^(*&#^$#

Okie..and so in total today...I walked 4 times the same distance from home to school, school to home. GREAT. and I just said yesterday I won't want to ever walk home in midday and again, I did it. RIGHT...

Anyway..when we went for the Course Advise session..there was like a mini tour (and it was really mini and meaningless cause can't hear anything at all - the freakin group was so big) and then after that there was like free lunch and you could mix around with other people AND the lecturers - nice part I would say that Murdoch has an open door policy whereby lecturers and students are like frens...anytime u want to pop by their office just go straight there, knock on their door and say hello! Nice isn't it?..That's how u make a nice campus world isn't it? Instead of all the barriers in singapore schools. Staffroom cannot go in la...u want to see them must call in..wait for them to come out and such.

Anyway, uploaded some other pictures we took today.

My House from Outside

My street in Kardinya

The Course Advise Session I went to - quite pointless for us cause mainly talking to local students whereby they are going into year 1

At the Lunch after the mini tour

The nice view home - a comforting thing to walking home

Perth/Murdoch

Heya all! Reporting from Perth...

Been here since friday 10th Feb. Touchdown at around 2.55pm but cause my housemate's (who was supposed to come fetch me) car broke down, he had to go looking for another car to fetch me. Therefore, I was stranded at the airport for quite some time, about like 3 hours? Thus, I read all the letters, cards, posters, whatever during that time. So peng, yes, I read yours before 1 week. Too bad. Anyway, ya I was like a silly fool smiling and laughing at what all of you wrote on your cards. But I enjoyed every single moment of that. Thanks peeps. =)

Went home, unpacked my stuff and packed stuff around my room. Pretty Fast and I got it up and running.
Coming thru the door

Then went with my housemate - shall now provide his name, Adrain. Adrain brought me for dinner at this place called "Satay Fiesta". It's manned by a chinese singaporean quite elderly couple..they've been there like 7 plus years already? And Uncle teddy(yes, that's his name) was really nice...coming over to talk to us, gave us free drinks and such. I heard many singaporeans like to go there to chill, to eat and such. But food was nice - satay taste like satay, peanut sauce taste like peanut sauce..not like some fake singaporean food that some people sell here. HAHA but it's slightly out of the way for people like me who don't have a car. YET.
Afterwhich, we proceeded to the workshop to check out his car. It's like in bad shape with all the technical stuff la. Anyway, it's something to do with timing belt, engine and pistons. aha. and stay there till 11 plus, reached home around 12mn. Then off to bed.

Saturday 11th Feb: Aunty Catherine (a family fren) came over my house to take a look and to talk to me for a while in the morning. After which, Adrain and I went to do some window shopping. Brought me to Garden City and Carousel to window shop - literally window shop - didn't go into most shops. Bought a few household stuff then went to airport to pick up my other housemate, Jasmine (who's going to take a similar course as me). Then after which, we went home did nothing really much and end of day.

Sunday 12th Feb: Orientation starts. Yes, I know it's sunday. But well, they made us go and do banking and Student ID today. Just these 2 stuff took us a few hours loh. And my Student ID photo is horrible. Lighting is horrible, angle is horrible. They should get more professional people to take photos. And i'm not going to show it here. Never.
Murdoch University!

After which, we went to Frementle with the school. Spent about 3 hours there..bought my favourite Chocolate Honeycombs! mmmmmmmmmm...yumyum. And some groceries like mostly veg and fruits. And 1 pack of hangers for $2. Then went home with Josh and cooked dinner.

The first 3 days were like boring.

But, Since monday....I've been having quite a lot of fun!

Monday, 13th Feb: it's like official launch of Orientation! There were booths around Bush court which is like a central location in school (ya know like the central atrium in TP) set up - something like CCA day in poly and stuff. Then we had talks and stuff - the talks were boring.*yawns* Same as Sg. But quite fun looking around la. Too bad I didn't bring my camera that day. There was a gay and lesbian rights club set up right outside the library. Then followed the school again to Garden City. This time, I bought 1 jacket for $5 and 1 top for $15 and 1 sunglasses - It's sorching hot and really glaring. Sunglasses Needed.

Tuesday, 14th Feb: There's like health cover talks in the morning *yawns* and stuff and a International Students Welcome Dinner at night. During the afternoon, Jasmine and I went to Kardinya park which was about 3 busstops away from school to get some groceries like meat, juices and stuff. It was terrible temperature that day - 37 degrees. When we went back, we dropped off at 1 stop earlier than we should have and we had to endure the temperature and weight all the way back home. It was Freakin Hot and freakin Heavy all the way back. We took about 30 mins (and it was about the distance from school to home) and we were sunburnt. GREAT. All red and black. After which we rested for a while then went for dinner at the Student Food Hall loh. And since today was tuesday...guess what? We have Gelare here too! We went for Gelare following Josh. Met up with a few of his (Adrain's too) cellgroup/churchmates. Really sweet people all. Would be going for their bbq next week. Happy Valentine's Day!

Wednesday, 15th Feb: Woke up late so can't go for the computer usage tour - would have to go the next day then. Bought pancakes in school to eat instead and it's quite not up to standard kind. They are thin and not at all fluffy - like what pancakes are supposed to be. I can make better pancakes - with the help of the prepacked mixtures. hehe. Then followed the international student organisation to Perth City. Took back all the sights and memories when I was here in 2004. Hope I can go eat TAKA and go harbourtown sometime soon. Met Angelin and her 3 frens - Emil and Clifford and Kah hon during the tour and we stuck around and tour perth city together.
At one of the streets in City of Perth

One of the CAT buses in the City. They are free to ride. Tell you, Perth or Australia's in that sense, welfare is good.

Angelin, me and Jasmine

Found bubble tea and bought it. Not as sweet as singapore but good la..sg's too sweet. Found the keropok I was looking for. But forgot to buy before I left the place. Shucks. Came back and we went to their Student Village Flats to look around and it was pretty nice. The single room was bigger than mine and quite cosy la. Then followed Emil and Clifford to see bicycles and found these 2 lovely cute dogs! 1 of them called muffin and the other....I forgot. HAHA.
Muffin and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

But anyway, they were really cute and nice to pat and all...And then we were back home. Emil and Clifford surveyed our house and has all the nice praises for it EXCEPT it was far. AHAH...when they heard we walked home everytime...they almost popped their eyes out and faint. AHAHA. Alright...actually okie la..take it as a morning and evening stroll loh..I won't want to be caught in the midday out there in summer. That's all for now..Will try to update daily and more pictures.
