hmm...today's sat and I just went to work for half a day today. Worked with the nice colleague in BGT again today. And next week I would see him again in a new lab, the TPHA lab, which tests for syphillis. My supervisor says that I would finish up with all the ID testing labs first before moving on the others. ID testing labs consists of blood group testing, Infectious Diseases (which includes TPHA, HCV, HIV, and Hep B) so for the next few weeks I would say around these infectious diseases labs. Then the remaining labs are blood component processing (to seperate them into different components..), Immunohaematology (which includes 24hr crossmatching lab, red cell reference lab - which does serology, antibody identification(the big long list of antigens)), customer service lab (issuing of blood to other hospitals), tissue typing service (HLA typing).
